Lee McDonnell, Donor Care Team member
"I want to help children as I travelled a little in my early years and I saw a lot of child poverty, it made a very strong impression on me. I love seeing communities in need grow because of support from others."
It’s fair to say some of you may know me! I’ve been working at ChildFund New Zealand for about 18 years ago and I’ve likely spoken to most of you at some point or another. My focus is on customer service, or rather our donor related work. I spend a lot of time on the phone answering queries or opening mail and communicating with supporters about child enquiries, child graduations and very sadly sometimes child deaths. When overseas travel is allowed, I also talk with supporters who are planning to visit their sponsored children and our dedicated communities.
Change is constant here. We are always moving forward and I like to think I grow with that a little too. Working here brings me a piece of mind, knowing that we are helping children all over the world.
When I’m not working, I enjoy art, reading (non-fiction mostly – new age stuff), walking and photography.
