Danielle Cormack, Ambassador
“I had dreamed of meeting her for 13 years, and finally there she was standing in front of me. When I first started sponsoring Akullu, her grandfather was corresponding with me on her behalf as Akullu was only a little girl. I had watched her grow up through her letters, she’s grown into this incredible young woman.”
Actress, Producer and mother-of-two Danielle Cormack is a passionate and long-time ChildFund sponsor!
As an ambassador, Danielle has stepped up to help raise funds for children through many ChildFund campaigns. Most recently she voiced our COVID-19 appeal to help vulnerable children and families in the Pacific with prevention and awareness.
Danielle has travelled to ChildFund supported communities in Kenya, Vietnam and Cambodia and truly understands the positive difference that sponsorship makes to children and communities.
“I witnessed first-hand the way ChildFund forms relationships with the local people, listening to their needs and then working together with them to establish sustainable projects that meet those needs. The support is respectful, empowering the children and the community as a whole. It’s that community-led approach that undoubtedly makes a tangible difference in children’s lives.”
Danielle is well loved on screens across Australia and New Zealand. She has starred in televisions shows and movies for over 25 years, including the hit series Wentworth.
Danielle, who has two sons of her own, sponsored Akullu in Uganda for nearly 15 years and now she sponsors Akullu's son Josephat.
