COVID-19 spikes in India with nearly 400,000 new cases per day

With the opening of the trans-Tasman bubble, and the recent news that quarantine-free travel between New Zealand and the Cook Islands is on the horizon, it seems that the effects of COVID-19 on New Zealanders are beginning to disappear.

And yet, globally, the pandemic continues to escalate with new cases appearing in isolated communities like Fiji, and skyrocketing in countries like Brazil and India.

Just this week, it was reported that new daily COVID-19 cases are reaching nearly 400,000 and thousands more people are dying every day.

For the past year, we have been responding to the critical needs of children, youth and families in ChildFund-supported communities across India, reaching nearly 250,000 people with life-saving food, education and hygiene supplies.

But now, things are so much worse.

ChildFund is reaching out to supporters to make a donation towards our emergency response activities, so we can respond to urgent needs as soon as they arise.

From just $11, you can change children's lives and reduce the deadly impact of COVID-19 in vulnerable communities around the world. Click here for more information or to make a donation today.
